Childcare Protest
Tuesday 9th December at 1pm
SIPTU, Liberty Hall, Dublin
SIPTU and the Dublin Inner City Providers Network are uniting workers, employers, parents and children by calling for an end to the Community Childcare Subvention Scheme.
Childcare for the most vulnerable children across Ireland is under threat because of the recently introduced government funding scheme according to new research. In addition some families who struggle the hardest to get themselves out of poverty and into employment are very likely to lose this support. The report of the research (click to view) 'A study of the effects of the Community Childcare Subvention Scheme' (3.92MB) was launched on Monday (20/10/2008) by Inner City Community Childcare Providers Network (ICCCPN) in conjunction with the Dublin Inner City Partnership (DICP) who commissioned the research.
