Lord Mayor of Sean McDermott Street

Gerard O'Neill was recently elected as the Lord Mayor of Sean McDermott Street, making him Ireland's youngest mayor.

"It's a great opportunity to make positive changes in the area and I'm really looking froward to it! says the 16 year old who beat off competition from two other candidates. "I have a lot of ideas and want to see some major changes in the area.

Gerard O'Neill is a memember of the YPAR Youth Forum which is currently planning to launch a newspaper entitled 'Teenage Times' to discuss issues facing young people in the community.
